This Thursday, October 23, 9-11a.m., we will once again be working in the east end of Spring Creek Forest Preserve to rescue plants growing on the access road that was cut through the forest earlier this year. The city of Garland’s parks department staff will bring a utility vehicle to help transport plants out of the forest.
Bring water, gloves, and hand trowels or shovels with long, thin blades (like sharpshooters and Root Slayers). Rolling garden carts (or even children’s wagons) are especially welcome. Close-toed shoes are mandatory. Wear insect repellent. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.
Note that the exact location of this rescue has not been determined; please reserve your space and the exact meeting/parking location will be emailed to you.
Send RSVPs and questions to danawilson59@yahoo.com.
North Texas Master Naturalists can earn 2 hours VH (under Preservation Society).
