AIR QUALITY The air quality in the Spring Creek Forest area is not pristine nor what you would expect in a remote National Park or National Forest. Since Spring Creek Forest is in close proximity to industrial activity as well as a major urban expanse: DFW, we breath less-than-optimum air. USA TODAY (12/9/2008) recently investigated unhealthy levels of toxic chemicals outside schools nationwide. Included here are air quality results at Namaan Forest High School and Webb Middle School, both of which are located on either side of Spring Creek Forest. Automobile emissions are extremely harmful to our health and environment also (NCTOG). The good news is that trees clean our air....they sequester pollutants from the atmosphere such as nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, ozone, carbon monoxide, and particulates that are 10 microns or less in diameter.
